6 Ways to Make More Sales with Social Media

Social media has been on the rise for years now, but can it really help you achieve more sales? It’s well known that content you publish needs to be relevant to your target audience, but it’s also important to understand how to use social media effectively and to your advantage.

The main goal that people tend to forget is to garner engagement, not just rack up “likes” and “followers.” The following tips can help you to spend your time effectively through social media:

1- Pull or push?

When it comes to social media, you want to add value. Many take the “push” method by blasting new listings or posts that don’t garner too much attention or conversation. Your best bet is to use the “pull” method and share relevant content that offers tips, opinions, and resources. This helps to pull in those who have an interest in the matter and engage on the topic.

2 – Be yourself!
This applies not only to social media, but also in everyday interactions. Authenticity, transparency, and honesty set you apart and take you a long way when it comes to networking.

3 – Stick to where your market is.
Trying to juggle your online presence across multiple channels can be difficult. Instead, take notice as to where you are receiving the highest visibility and responses from your target market, and concentrate your efforts into that avenue.

4 – Don’t leave traditional marketing on the backburner.

Social media is a great way to help build brand awareness and engage with potential customers, but don’t use it as a means to replace traditional marketing. It’s important to use all mediums and integrate them together, as e-mail and search are still top priorities.

5 – Consistency is key.

What you don’t want to do is start posting and creating engagement and then just slowly fade off. Try creating a content/post calendar for the next 60 days to help you plan out what actions should be taken on what dates, incorporation informational postings, marketing events, and lighthearted posts. This will allow you to build a community of engaged individuals rather than random engagement.

6 – Recognize your audience.

One of the most critical things you can do once you create engagement is to actually reply to those who take the time to reach out. Make sure you are monitoring this on a daily basis and are active in your online engagement; otherwise all of your efforts will have been done in vain.
